Consumer confidence for April is forecasted at 103.5, slightly down from 104.7.
Wednesday, May 1:
ADP employment for April is projected to be 200K, up from 184K.
Job openings for March are expected to slightly decrease to 8.7M from 8.8M.
ISM Manufacturing for April is expected to be 50.2%, slightly down from 50.3%.
Construction spending for March is anticipated to rise to 0.3% from a previous decrease of -0.3%.
The FOMC will announce its interest-rate decision at 11:00 AM, followed by a press conference with Fed Chair Powell at 11:30 AM.
Auto sales for April are expected, previously at 15.5 million.
Thursday, May 2:
U.S. unit-labor costs for Q1 are forecasted to rise sharply to 3.0% from 0.4%.
U.S. productivity for Q1 is expected to decrease to 1.0% from 3.2%.
The U.S. trade deficit for March is anticipated to be -$69.2 billion, slightly worse than the previous -$68.9 billion.
Initial jobless claims for April are expected to be 210K, up from 207K.
Factory orders for March are projected to increase to 1.6% from 1.4%.
Friday, May 3:
Hourly wages year over year for April, previously at 4.1%.
U.S. hourly wages for April are forecasted to remain steady at 0.3%.
The U.S. unemployment rate for April is expected to remain unchanged at 3.8%.
The U.S. employment report for April is anticipated to show 250K jobs added, down from 303K.
ISM services for April is expected to be 52.0%, up from 51.4%.
Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee and New York Fed President John Williams are scheduled to speak at 4:45 PM and 5:15 PM, respectively.
